2023 Competitor of the Year

Exclusive viewing of the Fox Car Collection Museum Club Day

On September 1st, PIARC's Competitor of the Year (COTY) Dinner was held at the Sandown Park Hotel Function Centre.

The event was attended by 54 members and guests to honour the winners of the prestige’s 2021 and 2022 PIARC Annual Awards, for the Winston Maguire Clubman of the Year Award, the John Lanyon Competitor of the Year Award, and the Clubsport Competitor of the Year  Award.

The Winston Maguire Clubman of the year Award has been continuously presented with the first recipient being George Thomas in 1965, with the 2021 and 2022 Winners being Roger Sinclair and Jen Campbell respectively for their outstanding contribution to all aspects of PIARC’s club life.

The John Lanyon Competitor of the Year Award was first presented conjointly to Alfredo Costanzo and Alan Hamilton in 1981 and has been continous since then with the 2021 and 2022 awards presented to Rob Splatt and Tony Groves respectively for their contributions as competitors to PIARC’s rich history of competition.

The Club Sport Competitor of the Year is a fitting recognition of the member who is adjudged not so much for being an event winner in this area of the club, but as someone who participates well and represents the club well in speed events and at times motorkhanas. The winners for 2021 and 2022 respectively were Graham Bentley and Scott Appledore.
