Island Magic Celebrates 35th Anniversary

The Phillip Island Auto Racing Club is gearing up for the 35th edition of its flagship event, Island Magic, at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, November 22 and 23.

A jewel in the Victorian motorsport crown, Island Magic this year features six categories, headlined by the Improved Production Racing Association (IPRA) Nationals and the final round of the National Sports Sedans Series.

Additionally, Hyundai Excels, Historic Touring Cars, Porsche 944 Challenge and Formula Vee will battle for glory and join an illustrious list of previous winners of their respective class trophies.

Approximately 100 IPRA entries are expected for this year’s event, with cars and drivers representing all Australian states and the Northern Territory. Three grids have been allocated to IPRA, two for Over 2-Litre cars and a third for Under 2-Litre.

While chasing Nationals glory, the race will also be on for the Matthew Flinders Plate. Jarrod Tonks claimed the gong in 2024, while South Australia’s Adam Poole took out the honour the prior three years-in-a-row, between 2021 and 2023.

Further news and developments of confirmed IPRA Nationals entries will be communicated closer to the meeting.

The National Sports Sedans Series will wrap season 2025 at the Island, with an anticipated 25 entries for the finale. Steven Tamasi heads into the meeting leading the points standings, behind the wheel of his impressive Holden Calibra.

Tamasi will be on the hunt for his fifth 50k Plate for Sports Sedans, a famed award boasting a legacy dating back to 1972.

Steven Lacey claimed his maiden 50k Plate during the 2024 edition of Island Magic, steering his IRC GT SS.

Victorian Championship titles will also be decided at Island Magic, Circuit Racing Hyundai Excels, Porsche 944 Challenge, Historic Touring Cars and Formula Vee will all celebrate their 2025 state championship winners.

Island Magic prides itself as a leading example of grassroots racing, encouraging authentic racing and camaraderie throughout the entire paddock.

Spectators are welcome to join this year’s Island Magic and experience the thrill of the best grassroots racing action up close and personal.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online through our digital ticket provider, Smart Tix.

Saturday passes are $30.00 for adults and $12.00 for juniors aged 12 to 17 years. Families passes (2 x adults and 5 x children) are $60.00.

Sunday admission is $35.00 for adults and $15.00 for juniors aged 12 to 17 years. Families tickets (2 x adults and 5 x children) are $80.00.

Fans planning to attend both days can claim weekend passes, $55.00 for adults, $20.00 for juniors aged 12 to 17 years and $125.00 for families (2 x adults and 5 x children).

Concession pricing for Saturday, Sunday or the weekend is also available, eligibility criteria apply.
