Vale Jeff Thomas
Condolences to Jeff’s family and many friends in the Sport. Race on.
We were saddened today when we learned that long time club supporter at our race meetings as a driver and commentator, Jeff Thomas passed away after suffering a stroke yesterday.
He was 73 years young.
Jeff was a long time contributor to our Commentary Team at our State Race Meetings and Island Magic Events for a number of years.
Jeff was always willing to jump in and commentate on any category that needed support, most particularly Saloon Cars and Sports Cars, when he wasn’t competing in either his Falcon Saloon Car or the Group S Datsun Sports Car.
Whilst not a podium competitor he was a true enthusiast driver and always had a go, it was the hunt that counted and not the glory.
He was also always available to journey to the Island specifically to grab a microphone when asked if we knew he was not racing that weekend.
Jeff, we will miss the spirited race calling, friendship and enthusiasm for PIARC and State level events over many years.
Condolences to Jeff’s family and many friends in the Sport. Race on.
